Our Mission

Human trafficking may feel like a global issue, but the truth is that it's happening right here in our community.

March of 2011, we started out on this journey together as a community searching for a way to impact the issue of human trafficking in Wichita.

Part of stopping the flow to this multi-billion dollar industry is raising awareness of the harsh reality of human trafficking. While it is a difficult subject to hear and speak about it is important that we continue our mission of education and prevention.

Over the past two years Wichita has seen over 150 cases of human trafficking involving minors. Our Exploited and Missing Child Unit routinely sees victims in the 14-17 age range. While most victims are female this issue also affects males. Globally, the clothing industry is one that is especially affected by labor trafficking and we hope to show through our event the ways people can find beautiful, high quality fashion that is made locally or by fair-trade organizations
